Computer service is available at select Pierce County Library locations

  • Use is limited to 2-hours per session at most locations.
  • Appointments can be made up to five days in advance.
  • Computers are available up to 15 minutes prior to closing. See hours.
  • Printing, faxing, scanning and copying services are also available at most Library locations.

Your library card number provides you access to Library computers.

  • Computers can be reserved up to two days in advance with a library card.
  • Computers can be used up to two hours per day with a library card or up to 30 minutes with a one-time visitor’s pass.
  • Only one session per day can be reserved at a time.
  • Reserved computers will be held for seven minutes, after which they will be made available to others.
  • Children’s and teen computers are not available to reserve.

Laptops are checked out just like books and can be used in-building while you visit us. Check with Help Desk at your library location staff to see if a laptop is available.

  • Laptops can be used for any amount of time within the day.
  • Internet access on laptops is filtered only. Unfiltered internet access is available on desktop computers.
  • Audio is available via the headphone port and headphones are available at the Help Desk.
  • External CD/DVD RW drives are also available for check-out.

Many library locations also have Wi-Fi, printing, copying and faxing available to you. Check out our locations directory for more information on what services are available at each location.

Using the Pierce County Library Wi-Fi

  • Free Wi-Fi is available at most library locations by simply selecting PCLS Wi-Fi.
  • By using Library computers, internet and Wi-Fi you agree to follow our Public Internet Use Policy, Rules of Use and Wi-FI Policy.
  • We encourage you to be mindful of the security of personal information when using a shared public computer. The Library cannot ensure the privacy or security of personal information on a shared public computer. If you experience something unexpected, please notify library staff.

Wi-Fi availability outside library buildings

Wi-Fi can be accessed from the parking lot on your own device during the following times at the listed locations:

7 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday (not available Sundays)

Buckley, DuPont, Eatonville, Fife, Key Center, Milton/Edgewood, Orting, Steilacoom and Tillicum

7 a.m – 9:30 p.m. Daily

Bonney Lake, Graham, Gig Harbor, Parkland/Spanaway, South Hill, Summit, Sumner and University Place 

Printing at the library can be done from most library locations and even from outside the library.

  • Prints are limited to 8.5 x 11” paper.
  • Customers receive $5.00 in free prints per week (50 black and white; ten color).
  • The cost per printed page is 10 cents per black and white page and 50 cents per color page.

Mobile printing can be done from your own computer or device, or even from home with an internet connection.  To print use one of three methods: Web PortalEmail Address or Mobile App 

  • Prints are limited to 8.5 x 11” paper, and customers will receive $5.00 in free prints per week (50 black and white; ten color).  
  • The cost per printed page is 10 cents per black and white page and 50 cents per color page.  
  • Some locations are currently not accepting any form of payment for printing so please do not print more than the free amount allowed.  

Copies are limited to 8.5 x 11” paper.

There is currently no cost for copies.
